Lessons from the Field #5: What You Walk Past, You Accept

One of the most important leadership lessons I’ve learned in the field is this:

What you walk past — you accept.

Every time we ignore:

• An empty shelf

• A missed standard

• A store that isn’t customer-ready

• A team member not executing

We’re not overlooking it…

We’re approving it.

And over time, those small moments become the standard.

The truth is — inconsistency in our stores isn’t a knowledge problem.

It’s a leadership consistency problem.

What gets corrected immediately improves.

What gets ignored repeats.

Leadership isn’t about what you see.

It’s about what you address — in the moment.

If we want better results, we have to hold the line.

Every store. Every shift. Every day.

Because in the end…

Discipline is the difference.
